winter storage of Puch 250?

Post by djmik » Thu Oct 15, 2020 7:20 pm

I seen some limited treads on this subject, but looking for any new updates.

More so for the folks up north, like me in Ohio. the best way to store the 250 during the winter months in a non heat garage?

1) remove battery ( place in heated basement on tickle charger).
2). Add gas (fuel) stablizer to tank.
3). spray some wd-40 in the spark plug holes.
4). move pistons to high point (top).
5) cover with m.c. cover.

Any thoughts?

I use armor all, and wipe down the bike, front to back. I do not use WD-40 for the exterior. It is a rust exciter, if there is such a thing. Great for some cleaning, but it will promote rust. Remember, the WD stands for water displacement. It's meant to evaporate.

As for the cylinders, I just leave the plugs in.

I always get both tires off the ground and deflate them to about half recommend pressure.
