Puch DS60 Wheels?

Post by Dr. Frankenstein » Sat Oct 05, 2019 9:28 pm

Does anybody happen to know of a suitable substitute for wheels/tires for a '66 or '67 Puch DS60 scooter? Originals are harder to find than an honest politician.

Is there any way to modify a set of, say, Honda or TaoTao scooter wheels? The manual calls for a wheel size of 3.00x2.15, but Good Luck trying to find that size... a 3.00x12" wheel might work, but I don't know what would have to be done to it to get it to fit...I've never had to modify a wheel to fit before, but there's always a first time, I guess...

I don't see any rims or wheels on Motorwest's site. A set of wheels from Austria is a tad spendy. I watch the bay for parts constantly and a few years ago a set of rims & hubs (no spokes) showed up, and I got them for $20.00. Patience required .

I hear you on that one; I have the patience of Buddha...Years can change nothing, and a Day can change everything.

I'm still considering a mod, though. Something newer, but hubbed to accept the brakes.
