Hey all, I am planning to refresh my 1964 Allstate 250 with new seals and gaskets. I am considering replacing the rings and honing the cylinders, especially after seeing that the front cylinder was installed backwards (ring gap visible from the intake). Bike runs strong though and will check the compression and for defects on the cylinder walls and pistons.

I've read other threads and see MotorWest is likely my best option, being in the United States. Shipping from RBO is 42 Euros. I have found 45 x 2.5 mm rings manufactured by Caber available here. The site says they are compatible with Puch engines. Would this be compatible with our 250s? It looks like it will work with the pin. Not sure if there is any other measurement needed to make sure it will work. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I think you could just remove the 4 nuts holding the jug, raise it up enough to access the wrist pin, then rotate the piston. Then proceed as you wish. ;)
